Master Choa Kok Sui: Our Guru

Updated: 5 days ago

It’s hard to talk about Pranic Healing without talking about the man behind it—Master Choa Kok Sui. Often called the founder of modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga, his story goes far beyond titles.

Master Choa was, at heart, a scientist. He spent years testing, observing, and experimenting with energy before sharing what we now know as Pranic Healing. He didn’t believe in blind faith—he believed in results. Every technique and principle was tested and verified, again and again, until it could be taught simply and practiced safely by anyone.

What made him remarkable was how he bridged science and spirituality. He speaks of energy not as something mystical, but as something natural—part of everyday life, flowing through everything and everyone. That balance between the practical and the spiritual is what gave Pranic Healing its strength and accessibility.

As a teacher, he was deeply compassionate yet incredibly precise. His teachings are structured, clear, and full of depth. He believed healing wasn’t only about fixing what’s broken, but also about awakening what’s already whole. Through Arhatic Yoga, he has offered a path to strengthen both character and soul, blending ancient wisdom with modern understanding.

Key Teachings of Master Choa Kok Sui

Master Choa's teachings were never confined to healing alone. They formed a complete framework for living — one that addressed the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions of a human being with equal seriousness.

  1. At the heart of his work was the principle that everything is energy. The physical body, emotions, thoughts, relationships, finances — all of these exist first as energy before they manifest in the tangible world. This single understanding, when truly absorbed, changes how a person approaches every area of life.

He taught that the energy body is not a mystical concept but a practical reality — one that can be observed, assessed, and worked with systematically. Pranic Healing, as he developed it, was never presented as faith healing. It was a science — repeatable, teachable, and verifiable through results.

  2. One of his most consistent teachings was the importance of character building alongside spiritual practice. He was direct about this: spiritual development without ethical grounding creates imbalance. Qualities like loving kindness, generosity, non-injury, and accurate perception were not soft ideals in his framework — they were prerequisites for genuine progress. The practice of Arhatic Yoga, which he developed, is built entirely on this foundation — strengthening the character first, so that higher spiritual energies can be integrated safely and sustainably.

  3. He also taught the law of giving and receiving — that energy, including abundance and prosperity, follows the quality of one's intention and the willingness to share. Tithing, service, and generosity were practical tools in his system, not moral obligations.

  4. A teaching that Master Choa returned to consistently, and one that we hold at the core of The Anvani Centre, is the practice of discernment. In a world full of information, opinions, and spiritual claims, he emphasised the importance of testing everything against direct experience and observable results. He did not encourage blind belief — not even in his own teachings. A student was expected to apply, observe, and verify. This approach keeps the practice grounded and protected practitioners from the kind of spiritual bypassing that can happen when faith replaces inquiry. Discernment, in his framework, was not scepticism — it was a form of inner intelligence that grows sharper the more sincerely one practices.

  5. Perhaps most importantly, he taught that healing is available to everyone. Not just those born with gifts, not just the spiritually advanced — anyone willing to learn, practice, and apply. This democratisation of healing is part of what made his work spread so widely and endure so strongly.

Master Choa was also a prolific author. His books—ranging from energy healing and prosperity to meditation and spirituality—continue to guide millions around the world. Each one carries his distinct style: simple, direct, and filled with timeless insight.

At The Anvani Centre, every healing, every meditation, every act of service carries forward that same spirit—to live consciously, to love deeply, and to enjoy this beautiful human experience while growing into who we are meant to be.
