Tai Chi in the ANVANI Flow

Atma namaste!

Today is the first time that we are officially speaking about this. So, here it is! The Anvani Centre has its own online self-paced program called the Feminine ANVANI Flow. We launched it a while back for our clients who were on their journey to a healthier energetic life.

We'll be talking more about it later; for now, I want to speak about Tai Chi and why we have included it in the Flow.

It was a couple of years back that I had a lower back injury. After my physiotherapist told me to put a pause on my yoga, I was lost. Yoga has always been the best form of movement for me. So, when it was something I was told to hold off on, I got a little dejected, almost deciding to not do anything else. Well, then came Tai Chi!

Tai Chi quickly became something I could do well physically, and the more I practiced, the more the practice took me away from the physical benefits. My first observation was how difficult it was. While it looked calming, I found that level of control in slow movements to be a challenge, especially with a compromised lower back. Over time, I remember finishing a session and feeling as though I've just woken up. The session used to take me to a place of complete mental silence. Body just following the cues, one after the other. As always, I had questions, and next thing I know, I found myself enrolling for the teacher training course!

How was I going to include it at The Anvani Centre, I didn't know. I just knew that I wanted to learn. And now that the Feminine ANVANI Flow is live, I know exactly why I learnt it. The Anvani Centre has always been a space of nurturing. We believe in active participation of every client, because then the story is yours, completely. And what better way than to include something as physical as Tai Chi?!

For those meeting Tai Chi for the first time, it's a form of martial arts. Based on the principles of yin and yang energy, it focuses on balance and strength through movement. Over time, it evolved into being a slow, internal process, which means that the balance of energy is achieved internally through slow, controlled movements. Tai Chi also helps in moving prana through the energy body, thus cleansing and replenishing of the energy body also happens through this process.

Taking it one step ahead to make it Anvani, we've woven in Tai Chi to ground you physically and emotionally, help you practice gratitude, boundary setting, and even forgiveness through movement.

It brings me immense joy and excitement when someone catches only but a glimpse of that balance, and returns to it every day to build on it, re-experience it, imbibe it, and live it. Especially if you've been carrying irregular or painful periods, hormonal imbalance, joint pain, or muscle aches, or simply feel like your cup is empty, step in, this is for you.

FLOW WITH US!

Till next time,

Arundhati
